  • NGATAHI-KNOW THE LINKS is a six-part ‘Rapumentary’ about native and marginalized peoples arts and activism in twenty countries. Its purpose is to create an elevated awareness amongst people in disparate geographical locations of the vibrancy and similarities they share through resistance art, poetry and music. At the same time presenting a new visual genre. Highlighting ‘Rap’ as an acronym for ‘rhyme and percussion’ a ‘Rap-u-mentary’ is a Hiphop infused music-documentary without narration, featuring spoken word performance & conscious discourse interwoven with music. A festival cut of parts 1 & 2 screened at Sundance Film Festival 2004, parts 1 to 5 are completed, available now on dvd. To date filming has occurred in 18 countries, part 6 is currently in production and will include footage from Brazil, China and India. The complete six-part boxset will be available in 2010. Parts 1 to 6 will still be available to purchase separately.
